Argotec Nigeria
Agrotec Nigeria was a conceptual research conducted by a joint venture with the Nigerian government. The Nigerian ministry of agriculture, impressed by the Israeli proven achievements, has started a project on the problem of DESERTIFICATION in the Sub-Saharan region.
The proposed plan is about establishing an east-west “WATER-BORDER” that will be made by a large water conduit connecting existing strong wells.
Around the “Water Border” a strip of agricultural settlements will be established and the land will be given to the local population with an efficient irrigation system.
This could potentially become a win-win solution as the plantations will hold the land and fight the dune migration while the population will benefit from the product.
